Prof. (Dr.) Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay

Dr. Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay is a Professor in Library and Information Science And presently Head, Department of Library and Information Science, Kalyani University, has an academic experience of over 22 years. His research interests include library discovery system, virtual library, machine learning applications in bibliographic data, bibliographic data carpentry. Prof.Mukhopadhyay, a recipient of Best Young LIS Teacher award (IASLIC), is an open source enthusiastic and worked as a developer and promoter of many open source projects. He has crossed the mark of 200 research papers in journals and conference volumes and five books in his beeline.
His book on Interoperability and Retrieval is published by UNESCO, Paris. Prof. Mukhopadhyay acted as metadata consultant for the project NDL (National Digital Library) hosted by IIT, Kharagpur. He is presently a member of the Advisory Committee for National Virtual Library Project of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
Learning Outcome of the workshop:
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Systematic Literature Review (SLR) techniques, distinguishing SLR from traditional Literature Review (LR) and Meta-analysis. They will learn to design effective search protocols and filters for extracting relevant literature, use bibliometric tools like VosViewer for data visualization and analysis, and conduct detailed journal, paper, and author evaluations. Additionally, they will explore network analysis for identifying research trends and connections. The workshop will equip attendees with skills to systematically synthesize research, recognize the scope and advantages of SLR, and apply these methods to enhance academic rigor and research quality.
